Dear Students and Parents,

    Welcome students. We are looking forward to a great year! You will have two text books this year. We will start with the first book in September and then replace it with another in January. Students will be expected to reread each lesson and complete the questions at the end of each lesson. Parents reread the lessons with your child and discuss the material with him/her. Missed classes will have the day’s lesson posted on the parish web site. Please try not to miss classes.

    I am married and the mother of four. Two are actively serving in the US Marines. The older two are employed in the Western New York area.

I have taught 8^th grade religion for the last two years here at OLPH and have taught religion for many years before. I enjoy my classes. I have met some great students through teaching.

     I taught music in the Buffalo school system for many years and just retired this past June. I still play the organ for one Mass weekly at St. Vincent’s. My husband ushers at the noon Mass here at OLPH.

     As parents we ask that you take your 8^th grader to weekly Mass and to pray with him/her. Grace before meals is a good time to pray. Set a good example by being active in the parish and the community. Your 8^th grader will be asked to give a bit of his/her time in community service projects. Many opportunities will be available through the CCD office and others could include being an altar server or participating in the parish music ministry.
