Dear Parents,
Welcome to the journey to First Eucharist! We’re looking forward to working with you to prepare your child to receive this wonderful sacrament on May 1st.
Please take a few minutes to look at the sacramental text that your child received in class; in the center of the book you’ll find a Family Guide to use at home with your child. Please re-read each chapter and choose at least one activity each week to focus on with your child.
We’ve already completed Chapters One and Two. Here is the schedule of what we will be doing over the next few weeks:
· March 14: Chapter Three
· March 21: Parent Meeting ( in the Church); Chapter Four
· March 28: Church Tour; Parents -please complete Chapter Five at home with your child
· April 11: Chapter Six
· April 25: Retreat ()-Bring a lunch!
· Rehearsals: Wednesday, April 28th -Last Name A-L, -
Thursday, April 29th – Last Names M-Z,
· Saturday, May 1st : First Communion Liturgy (M-Z), (A-L)
· Sunday, May 2nd: NO CLASS FOR THIRD GRADERS
· Sunday, June 6th: Feast of Corpus Christi Procession by First Communicants at Mass. PLEASE WEAR YOUR FIRST COMMUNION OUTFITS!!!
Information will be published each week on the parish website (www.olphlakeview.com), so parents can see specifically what was covered in class and help their children stay on top of things, especially if they are absent from class.
